On Monday 23rd May, Year 10 students studying Spanish together with their teacher went on an outing to the Silent city. These students had the opportunity to make good use of the four language skills whilst playing the role of a tourist. Upon arrival to their destination, they were given an activity booklet which covered historical information, interesting facts, and language exercises; all linked to content covered in the classroom during the past weeks. Upon returning to school students were presented with a final writing task: penning a postcard expressing what they had done and seen during the day. All of them were engaged actively in their learning and the presented tasks were used to gauge strengths in the children’s knowledge and understanding.
