Beat the heat with a sweet treat!To celebrate the arrival of the warmer days, the Student Council organized a fun and refreshing activity for all students — a special ice-cream sale during break-time. The event took place last week and was a big success, bringing smiles and excitement across the school.During the main break, students gathered in the school courtyard where a variety of ice-cream flavours were available to choose from. There was something for everyone, from classic vanilla and chocolate to fruity options like strawberry and lemon. On the 15th of May 2026, Year 10 students from San Ġorġ Preca College participated in a highly beneficial Mock Interview Initiative aimed at preparing students for future academic and career opportunities.Throughout their PSCD lessons, students were guided extensively by their PSCD teachers in developing essential employability and communication skills. Preparation sessions included detailed guidance on how to write a professional Curriculum Vitae (CV), compose an effective covering letter, and build a personal portfolio. In addition, students discussed and practised a variety of possible interview questions, helping them gain confidence and improve their presentation skills.This year’s initiative was particularly noteworthy as it was organised entirely through the dedication and hard work of the PSCD department, without any external organisational assistance. The commitment and collaboration shown by the PSCD teachers played a fundamental role in the success of the activity.Students were interviewed by external interviewers coming from a variety of professional fields, providing them with a realistic interview experience and valuable exposure to different career sectors. Their participation greatly enriched the experience and allowed students to better understand the expectations of the professional world.At the end of each interview, every student received a personalised feedback sheet highlighting strengths and areas for improvement. This constructive feedback offered students valuable insight into their performance and encouraged further personal and professional development.The Mock Interview Initiative proved to be an enriching and educational experience for all those involved.
