Our Year 10 geography option students have carried out a microclimate study of the school grounds.
The study began with students setting hypotheses about which areas of the school would be the warmest, coldest, windiest, and calmest. Throughout the investigation, students diligently recorded data, making sound recordings of their observations. They measured temperatures and wind speeds at different locations, carefully noting down their findings. This enhanced their understanding of microclimates.
Upon returning to the classroom, the students completed a write-up of their findings. They analysed the data collected, compared it to their initial hypotheses, and drew conclusions based on their observations.
