Yesterday, our Year 11 Art students had the opportunity to visit Ta’ Qali Crafts Village, exploring the diverse career paths and creative opportunities available through the study of Art.
Students discovered the work of talented artisans specialising in ceramics, silver filigree, glassblowing, jewellery making, candle making, textile art and many other traditional and contemporary crafts.
A highlight of the visit was an exhibition at Gemelli Art Gallery, featuring the artworks of Dr Sagona. Students participated in an engaging Art Appreciation lesson, developing their skills in observing, interpreting and critically analysing works of art.
A special thank you to Dr Sagona for warmly welcoming our students and sharing his artistic experiences, creative processes and insights during a valuable Meet the Artist session.
We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Mr Parnis from the Malta Crafts Foundation for organising and coordinating this educational tour.
It was an enriching and inspiring experience, allowing our students to connect classroom learning with the world of art, craftsmanship and creative careers!
