For many students it is difficult to know when to use the indefinido or the imperfecto, as they both refer to actions in the past.

Remember that for actions completed at a definite moment in the past we use the indefinido:

Bailé mucho anoche. (I danced a lot last night).

Whilst for habits or repeated actions in the past we use the imperfecto:

Yo veía a mis primos todas las semanas. (I used to see my cousins every week).
