If you are learning a foreign language, and you do not read regularly… STOP! You should be, but why? The more you read, the more imaginative you become, as you are exposed to new words when reading novels, literacy work or newspaper.

Reading also helps better the comprehension skill. Also, the spelling of words that you heard can be clarified and eventually you will master the grammar and punctuation through consistent reading.

The new reading books at our schools’ library are:

  • Abuelita Anita y el pirata
  • La bici-taxi
  • PB3 y la chaqueta
  • Fin de semana en Barcelona
  • Nochevieja en Madrid

If you find yourself stumped by an unknown word, look at the word and see if it is familiar in any way. There is often crossover in the vocabulary of different languages. Take a guess – you might surprise yourself!
