On the 14th of February, our school adopted two animals who were found in difficulty. Our school helped pay for the medication and food as well as for the trust’s Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre additional needs.
Turtle Eva came to the Rehabilitation Centre last summer with difficulty in diving. She needed some medications to treat an internal infection, but now she is stable. She recently started diving and surfacing very well, so we’re hopeful that she will be able to be released during the coming summer.
Hedgehog Grumpy came to the Rehabilitation Centre in January with a trio of bleeding head wound, skin infection and pneumonia. No wonder they named him Grumpy poor guy. The head wound and the pneumonia have healed up very well, but he is still under treatment for the skin infection. Once the skin infection starts resolving, they will have a better idea of when he will be able to be released.
A big thank you goes to the volunteers, vets and workers at Nature Trust-FEE Malta who take care and nurture back to health these animals.
