San Ġorġ Preca College was proud to host the Malta Interschools Chess Tournament 2025, organised by the Malta Chess Federation. The event brough together 170 talented students from 50 schools across Malta and Gozo, transforming our hall into a vibrant arena of strategy, focus, and sportsmanship.
This year held special significance as it marked our school’s first-ever participation in the tournament. Three teams from our Chess Club, founded last year, competed under the guidance of their club teacher Mr Edward Thake.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the organisers, arbiters, and all who contributed to this seamless and inspiring event. Special thanks goes to the Malta Chess Federation, our Head of School, Mr George Galea, the deputy heads, participating schools, and our dedicated staff for their invaluable support.
