This year, Safer Internet Day is marked globally on the 10th of February. It highlights the importance of creating not just a safer internet, but a better one—where individuals are supported in using technology responsibly, respectfully, thoughtfully, and creatively.

Our school’s ICT team recognised this important day by integrating the topic of cyberbullying into Year 9 and Year 10 ICT lessons in the week leading up to Safer Internet Day. As cyberbullying forms part of the ICT C3 syllabus covered in Year 9, the topic was naturally incorporated into lessons and reinforced across both Year 9 and Year 10 through the use of videos and guided discussions. This allowed students to explore the serious effects of cyberbullying and understand why it should not take place, as it can have a damaging impact on others.

A special thank you goes out to Ms Y. Magri and Ms R. Vella, Year 9 and Year 10 ICT teachers.
