During this week, Year 9 Spanish students participated in a collaborative, technology‑based activity designed to apply their language skills in a practical, real‑world context. Working in small groups and using their laptops, students were tasked with planning a complete holiday to a destination in Spain. The activity aimed to develop vocabulary related to travel, accommodation, activities, and food, while strengthening digital research skills and teamwork.
Activity Description
Each group began by researching different cities in Spain. Using online travel resources, students were asked to: research realistic flight options, including prices and travel times, and compare different hotels and evaluate features such as location, facilities, and cost.
Next, students created a structured one‑day itinerary for their chosen destination. Activities included visits to museums, beaches, shopping districts, and local landmarks. Students also researched local restaurants and selected one that matched their group’s preferences. Finally, each group compiled their findings into a written Spanish summary.
