Attending the 2026 Grant Award Ceremony was an enriching experience that highlighted the transformative power of Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) in supporting education, mobility and community development across Europe. The event commenced with the Grant Management Meeting for beneficiaries of Erasmus+ Key Action 1 and Key Action 2, bringing together representatives from schools, vocational education and training, higher education, adult learning, youth and sport. The meeting focused on effective grant management and the successful implementation of high-quality projects.
A key feature of the event was the exchange of experiences and best practices among beneficiaries through engaging panel discussions. These focused on the programme’s four horizontal priorities: inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, environmental sustainability, and democratic participation. Participants shared valuable insights into their projects, demonstrating how European funding is translated into meaningful actions that positively impact communities.
The ceremony was attended by Permanent Secretary Jonathan Vassallo and Minister for European Funds, Social Dialogue and Consumer Protection Keith Azzopardi Tanti. In his address, Mr Vassallo emphasised the importance of education and lifelong learning in a rapidly changing world, stating that Erasmus+ projects are about “preparing people for a future that none of us can predict.”
The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to beneficiaries, celebrating their commitment to transforming innovative ideas into opportunities for learning, growth and social progress. We were particularly proud that our school was awarded funding for two projects under KA122-SCH: Equity, Diversity and Digital Tools in a Future-Ready School: Reimagining Learning at Hamrun Secondary and KA152-YOU: Mind Matters, providing exciting opportunities for students and staff to engage in international learning experiences, develop new skills, and strengthen European collaboration. This achievement marks an important milestone in our school’s continued commitment to educational excellence, inclusion and innovation.
